Begin Your Journey as a Mindfulness Teacher
Mindfulness has the power to change lives—not only the lives of the people you teach, but also your own.
Whether you’re looking to begin a new career, enrich your existing professional practice or deepen your own mindfulness journey, the Mindfulness Now Teacher Training Programme offers a practical, evidence-informed pathway to becoming a skilled, confident and accredited mindfulness teacher.
Approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS), the programme integrates the strengths of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), equipping you with the knowledge, confidence and practical teaching skills to deliver mindfulness safely, ethically and effectively in a wide range of settings.
More than a professional qualification, this training is an invitation to cultivate the qualities that underpin excellent mindfulness teaching: presence, curiosity, compassion, authenticity and reflective practice. As your own mindfulness deepens, so too does your capacity to support others.
“One of the most positive training experiences I have had. The course was thoughtful, developmental and genuinely aligned with the values of mindfulness.”
Why Choose the Mindfulness Now Teacher Training Programme?
Professionally Recognised
Train on a programme approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS), combining established mindfulness approaches with high professional standards and a strong emphasis on safe, ethical teaching.
Practical and Experiential
Mindfulness cannot be learned from books alone. Throughout the course you’ll participate in guided practices, reflective enquiry, teaching exercises and experiential learning, enabling you to develop both your own practice and the confidence to teach others.
Integrating the Best of MBSR and MBCT
Develop a broad and flexible understanding of mindfulness by learning an approach that thoughtfully combines the strengths of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), preparing you to teach across a wide range of settings.
Learn from Experienced Practitioners
Your Cambridge training is led by Tony O’Shea-Poon, an experienced mindfulness teacher, therapist, tutor and supervisor, and a member of the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation training team for 7 years. Alongside delivering the core programme in London and Cambridge, Tony delivers CPD days, professional supervision and coaching, supporting many graduates long after qualification.
More Than a Qualification
We believe the most effective mindfulness teachers are those who continue to cultivate their own practice. Throughout the programme you’ll therefore be encouraged to develop not only your teaching skills, but also the qualities that enable authentic, compassionate and embodied teaching.
“The learning wasn’t just about mindfulness itself—I learned a great deal about myself too…it was incredibly valuable.”
Why Join Our June 2027 Cambridge Programme?
We’re delighted to be launching our inaugural Mindfulness Now Teacher Training Programme in Cambridge, marking an exciting new chapter in bringing this highly regarded training to one of the world’s most inspiring centres of learning.
Taking place in June, the programme benefits from the energy and optimism of early summer. Longer days and warmer weather create wonderful opportunities to immerse yourself in mindfulness practice, both indoors and outdoors, while allowing time to reflect, connect with fellow participants and fully engage with the learning experience. Many participants find that this season naturally encourages openness, curiosity and personal growth.
Completing your training during the summer also places you in an excellent position to begin offering mindfulness courses, workshops or one-to-one sessions in the months that follow. As your confidence develops throughout the programme, you’ll be ready to share mindfulness with others with confidence, authenticity and compassion, grounded in your own lived experience of mindfulness practice.
Why Train in Cambridge?
Our inaugural Cambridge programme takes place at the beautiful Lee Seng Tee Hall, Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, a welcoming and contemporary college set within peaceful gardens beside the River Cam. Combining outstanding learning facilities with tranquil outdoor spaces, Wolfson provides an exceptional environment in which to learn, reflect and practise mindfulness.
Studying within the University of Cambridge offers a unique sense of inspiration and connection with one of the world’s most respected centres of education and scholarship. While the mindfulness training itself remains grounded, practical and experiential, the surroundings encourage reflection, curiosity and a genuine sense of stepping away from the demands of everyday life to focus fully on your own learning and development.
As with all our programmes, you’ll be learning alongside participants from a wide range of professions, cultures, identities and life experiences. The diversity of each cohort enriches discussion, broadens perspectives and helps prepare you to teach mindfulness with confidence, sensitivity and inclusivity across many different communities.
As our inaugural Cambridge cohort, you’ll also be part of an exciting milestone in the continuing development of the Mindfulness Now programme. We look forward to welcoming a group of participants who will help shape the future of mindfulness teacher training in this beautiful setting.
“As well as being an excellent learning environment, it was also a wonderful opportunity to deepen my own mindfulness practice while meeting some lovely, interesting people from a wide range of backgrounds.”
Staying at Wolfson College
We hope to be able to offer accommodation at Wolfson College itself, subject to availability, allowing participants to enjoy the unique experience of living and studying within the University of Cambridge during the programme. If available, accommodation is expected to cost approximately £95 per night, although availability will not be confirmed until the end of 2026.
Participants are, of course, welcome to arrange their own accommodation in Cambridge, where there is a wide range of hotels, guest houses and other options to suit different budgets and preferences. Convenient, free parking is also available at Wolfson College for those travelling by car.
Support Beyond Qualification
For us, qualifying as a mindfulness teacher is not the end of your journey. It’s just the beginning.
Many teacher training programmes conclude once you’ve received your certificate. Our commitment is to continue supporting your development as you gain experience and confidence as a mindfulness teacher.
Graduates are invited to continue their professional development through CPD events, specialist workshops, supervision and our free, weekly Mindful Mondays online drop-in. Whether you’re preparing to teach your very first mindfulness course or developing an established practice, you’ll continue to have access to experienced guidance and a supportive professional community.
“I’ve now completed three courses with Tony, covering mindfulness and hypnotherapy, and each one has been just as enjoyable and enriching as the last.”
Your Journey Starts Here
Our graduates go on to teach mindfulness in healthcare, education, charities, workplaces, private practice and community settings, while many therapists, counsellors and coaches integrate mindfulness into their existing work.
Whether you’re just commencing your mindfulness journey, or you’re taking the next step in your professional development, you’ll be part of a warm, supportive learning community dedicated to helping you flourish both personally and professionally.
If you’re ready to deepen your own mindfulness practice while developing the confidence, knowledge and professional skills to teach others, we’d be delighted to welcome you to our June 2027 Cambridge programme.
“As well as learning a valuable lifelong skill, it felt like giving myself a week of gifts through the mindfulness practices. I’d highly recommend the Mindfulness Now programme to anyone wishing to deepen their own mindfulness practice or to teach mindfulness in a responsible, evidence-based way.”
