Join the Mindfulness Foundation class to understand what mindfulness is, where it comes from, its effectiveness for a wide range of emotional and physical conditions and to experience it directly through practice led by an experienced teacher.

Who is it for?

The Mindfulness Foundation class will benefit men and women that would like to help manage anxiety, stress, depression, or emotional or physical pain. It is also suitable for you if you want to take time out to develop greater self-awareness or be more in touch with your thoughts, feelings and emotions, or if you simply want to learn to be calmer and happier in your life.

The class can provide great benefit on its own and it can be a stepping stone to the full Mindfulness Now course.

What happens in the Foundation Class?

The teacher will lead 3 introductory-level mindfulness meditations and will introduce the 9 mindfulness attitudes. You will learn about the background to mindfulness, its effectiveness in a wide range of conditions and, importantly, how to practice it.

The class will help you to achieve a calm and relaxed state, while learning how to be fully alert, aware and appreciative of the present moment.

You will learn about the full Mindfulness Now course and there will be plenty of time to ask questions and to talk to other participants and the teacher during refreshments after the class.

Who is the Teacher?

The class is led by Tony O’Shea-Poon, an experienced coach, facilitator, peace activist and teacher of Mindfulness. Tony is trained to deliver the nationally-recognised Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy courses and is licensed by the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation to teach Mindfulness Now which is accredited by the British Psychological Society. Tony is a practitioner of Mindfulness in the Plum Village style, a tradition taught by Buddhist Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn.

How much time does it take?

The Mindfulness Foundation class is scheduled for 2 hours, including refreshments.

Where is it held?

All classes and courses are held at The Quaker Centre, Downhead Park, Milton Keynes, MK15 9BH.
